On Feb. 9, 2009 AfriClassical posted: "Errollyn Wallen (b. 1958), African American Composer & Vocalist".  Today we publish a brief story from BlackClassics.co.uk:
Saturday 23rd May 2009
“For the first time brother and sister Byron (trumpet/flute) and Errollyn (piano, voice) have collaborated as a duet, and will bring together audiences from classical, jazz, world and popular music. They tell the remarkable andf unique story of two of the UK's brightest musical talents. They take the audience on a journey from Belize to London and New York. Their unconventional upbringing forced them to re-define and challenge notions of belonging, distance and boundaries – also important driving forces in their music-making.

“Awarded an MBE in 2007 for services to music, Errollyn Wallen is a classical pianist and singer as well as working as a Composer-in-Residence at Dartington International Music Festival, Huddersfield Festival and Trinity College of Music. Errollyn is currently Visiting Composer-in-Residence at Birmingham Conservatoire and Research associate at Middlesex University.

“Byron Wallen is one of the most dynamic and versatile jazz voices currently on the British scene. He has worked alongside such luminaries as Hugh Masekela, Manu Dibango, Chaka Khan, Wynton Marsalis, Courtney Pine, and reggae's Gregory Isaacs and Ken Booth.
