Ben Holt Memorial Branch of the NANM announces scholarship competition in voice March 19 & 20

The newly formed Ben Holt Memorial Branch of the National Association of Negro Musicians, Inc. announces its local scholarship competition in voice. Contestants between the ages of 18-30 years old pursuing vocal music study are encouraged to apply. The competition will be held in two rounds, the first round on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 4 PM and the final round on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at 7 PM at Sixth Presbyterian Church in NW Washington, D. C. The winner of the local competition will represent the Washington, D. C. branch at the regional convention in April.

All materials are to be sent in as a complete competition packet consisting of application, competition fee in the form of a check/money order made payable to the Ben Holt Memorial Branch and a CD recording including 1 aria and 1 art song.
