Harpist Angelica Hairston in 'Ennanga' of William Grant Still at National Black Arts Festival

[Angelica Hairston]

Judith Anne Still of William Grant Still Music forwards an email about harpist Angelica Hairston from David E. Robinson III, Founder and Artistic Director of Still Waters Youth Sinfo-Nia of Metropolitan Atlanta, Inc.:

“I was at the National Black Arts Festival performance of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Featured soloist was Angelica Hairston, harpist who just graduated from high school and is on her way to college on all types of scholarships. She performed one of your father's pieces called 'Ennanga' for harp, piano, and string orchestra, Movement 1. She did an awesome job on it.”

William Grant Still (1895-1978) is profiled at AfriClassical.com, which features a comprehensive Works List by Prof. Dominique-René de Lerma, http://www.CasaMusicaledeLerma.com. Here is the entry on Ennanga:
