“The popular Avanti Ensemble members David Ehrlich, violin, Ben Wyatt, cello, and Teresa Ehrlich, piano, are joined by acclaimed violist Nokuthula Ngwenyama to bring us an evening of 'lush sounds of piano and strings.' At age 17 Ms Ngwenyama was a prizewinner in the Primrose International Viola Competition and the Young Concert Artists International Auditions. She is also winner of an Avery Fisher career grant.

"Gramophone proclaimed Ms. Ngwenyama's playing as 'solidly shaped music of bold, mesmerizing character.' This concert features Mozart's uplifting Piano Quartet in E-flat Major, Rachmaninov's emotional Piano Trio 'Elegiaque' No. 1 in G minor, and the first performance in Blacksburg of Joaquin Turina's sensual Piano Quartet, op. 67."
