CHELSEA OPERA
PRESENTS
SPUNKY OLD OPERA BROADS

MARIA RUSSO, SOPRANO AND EUGENIE GRUNEWALD, GUEST ARTISTS
Friday, February 24th AT 8PM

Who are these Spunky Old Opera Broads? One took off all her clothes to obtain her heart’s desire! Another threw a baby into the fire! Yet another seduced a French corporal! Working as a team, three of them slew a dragon and tormented two seekers of truth! Let’s just say they are women with a big personality and they can’t wait to strut their “stuff”. Join us as the familiar and several less familiar ladies of opera are presented through their signature arias and scenes on Friday, February 24th at 8.00 pm at Christ and St. Stephen’s Church (120 West 69 Street, between Broadway and Columbus).

Tickets are $20 general admission and $15 students/seniors purchased in advance (or $25 and $20 at the door). Tickets may be purchased on-line (link through www.ChelseaOpera.org) or by calling 1-866-811-4111. This production is supported in part by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, and the New York State Council on the Arts, a state agency, and by the Friends of Chelsea Opera. For more information, call 212-260-1796 or visit www.ChelseaOpera.org.

The program will feature principal singers from past Chelsea Opera productions and special guests including dramatic soprano Maria Russo and dramatic mezzo soprano Eugenie Grunewald. Both women have had enormously successful international careers, singing at top houses in Europe, South America and throughout the United States. Ms. Grunewald has also recently begun teaching master classes, helping young singers find the dramatic edge within their singing, and Ms. Russo is an accomplished voice teacher. Also singing on the program are sopranos Elizabeth Beers-Kataria, Tracy Bidleman, Caprice Corona, Lisa Daehlin, Darla Diltz, Camille Gifford, Miriam Kushel, Janette Lallier, La Toya Lewis, Michele Paape, and Michelle Pretto, and mezzo sopranos Rachel Arky, Julie DeVaere, Joanna Dionis, Patrice Eaton, Leslie Middlebrook, Ema Mitrovic, Christine Reimer, and Kim Sogioka.
