Chamber Music from Bach to Björk: 'Deep River' of Coleridge-Taylor, 'Maple Leaf and Reflection Rags' of Joplin, 'La Bella Cubana' of White

[José Silvestre White (1835-1918)]

On April 18, 2012 AfriClassical posted: “Teachers College, Columbia University: 'Chamber Music from Bach to Björk 7:30 PM May 1' With Music of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Scott Joplin & José Silvestre White.” Teachers College Chamber Music is coached by Dr. Dwight Manning. We asked him to identify the works by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Scott Joplin and José Silvestre White. Dr. Manning has graciously replied:

Bill, we're doing Deep River by Coleridge-Taylor, Maple Leaf and Reflection Rags by Joplin, and La Bella Cubana by White.

The title of our program is Chamber Music from Bach to Björk.

“Many thanks for your fine work!
Dwight”
