'The Jerome Fund for New Music (JFund) supports the creation of new musical works by emerging composers'

Claire TillerProgram and Social Media Manager, writes from the American Composers Forum about Commissioning Programs:

The Jerome Fund for New Music (JFund) supports the creation of new musical works by emerging composers, composer/performers, improvisers and sound artists. JFund helps cover the cost of the creator’s commissioning fee and also provides financial support—Enhancement Funds—to help the project reach its maximum potential. Together, the program seeks to help the creation, performance/presentation and subsequent life of a new project.

JFund welcomes applications in all musical genres, including jazz, experimental, classical, improvised, electroacoustic, sound-art and international styles, and seeks to expand new-music culture beyond the usual settings.

Application deadline: Friday, August 17, 2012 (postmark)

Claire Tiller on Classical and Concert Music:
The programs we offer are all open to composers actively writing classical and concert music, with some open to other styles of music as well.  I would invite you to visit our website and explore the many different commissioning and contests that we offer.  All of the programs that we administer can be found here: http://www.composersforum.org/programs
