I learned of Solomon Northup around 50 years ago during the early stages of becoming excited about the neglected history and achievements of African Americans in classical music and the extraordinary history of African Americans playing the violin. The forthcoming movie '12 Years A Slave' brings to mind another historical fact - Jewish participation in the Civil Rights movement.

'12 Years A Slave' was bankrolled by billionaire Israeli citizen and businessman Arnon Milchan. Neglected African American and other ethnic stories of achievement can be GOOD BUSINESS. MusicUNTOLD and John Malveaux encourage support of '12 Years A Slave'. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMpDUYzLgzY
