L'Académie: 'Please consider supporting either of our sponsorship opportunities when making your 2013 year-end contributions.'

“Music is a therapy. It is a communication far more powerful than words,  far more immediate,  far more efficient.” -- Yehudi Menuhin

Leslie Kwan writes:

It's hard to believe that we are in the last days of 2013. We hope this year was a memorable one for you as it was for us. We have so much to be thankful for:

- ensemble in residence at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
- our first corporate sponsorship from the esteemed Boston Symphony Orchestra
- our first benefit concert for the Susan F. Smith Center for Women's Cancers, which raised $1500!

All of these milestones were made possible because of  your support and your interest in letting us know what musical experiences matters most.

As we look ahead to the exciting developments in 2014, we'd like to take a moment and ask you to please consider supporting either of these sponsorship opportunities when making your 2013 year-end contributions.

Our annual fund goal is $127,000.00. This fund makes the chamber concert series and the orchestra benefit series possible.

Orchestra Benefit Concerts 2014
Our orchestra concerts function as benefits for specific departments at DFCI. In 2014, we have 2 benefit concerts planned: May 2014 in support of The Jimmy Fund and October 2014 in support of the Susan F. Smith Center for Women's Cancers. These concerts are funded solely by donations and corporate sponsorships.

We are looking to raise $75k for the benefit concerts- $50k for the May 2014 concert and  $25k for October 2014.

Ways to help:
1. Make a tax-deductible donation to L'Académie today in honor of a loved one, specifying which concert you wish to sponsor.
2. Sponsor a member of the orchestra ( $1000 donation)
3. Spread the word on Facebook and Twitter

Concert Series at Dana-Farber 2014
From now through December 31, 2013 we have a campaign on Indiegogo to raise funds exclusively for our concert series at Dana-Farber. The cost of running this series is $52k per year and is funded solely by donations and corporate sponsorships. Our goal is to raise $52k by December 31, 2013.

Ways to help:
2. Share the video with your networks, friends and family
3. Share on Facebook and Twitter

All donations can be made online or you can make a check out to:
