Tour-de-Force Press Release

C Force is pleased to announce the recent release of their newest compact disc entitled Tour-de-Force

In their newest release, Tour de Force, C Force journeys throughout the Caribbean with musical renditions from Guadeloupe, Jamaica, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago, Curacao, the U.S. Virgin Islands and The Bahamas.  This showcase of Caribbean art music features works of composers spanning over three centuries.

Following the successes of their first two releases (Tchaka Mizik, hailed by Jamaican pianist Paul Shaw as "Sheer Magic" and Deep Blue, regarded by Dominique de Lerma as "being destined to become a document in the evolutionary history of music in The Bahamas"), C Force continues in their commitment to the preservatiojn and promotion of art music of the Caribbean region.

This two-disc collection contains original compositions written in a traditional classical vein such as Adagio by Joseph Bologne (Guadeloupe), Vodoo Jazz Sonata by Julio Racine (Haiti), Beachcomber by Oswald Russell (Jamaica), and Three Waltzes by Statius Muller (Curacao).  Some selections are arrangements from their original instrumentations such as the Scena from Ernestine (Joseph Bologne - originally written for voice and orchestra), Elena and Her Variations by Peter Ashbourne (Jamaica - originally written for recorder), Williams' Waltz by Atiba Williams (Trinidad - originally written for violin and piano, and Warbling in the Moonlight by Alton Adams (USVI - originally written for piccolo and concert band).  Several pieces have their origin in a folk vein or dance setting and feature the unique folk rhythms and/or melodies of their countries of origin; among these are Werner Jaegerhuber's Chansons folkloriques d"Haiti, Ludovic Lamothe's Nibo, and Danza by Raymond La Motta. Finally, Bahama Islands Suite is an original composition written expressly for C Force and Pinder"s Point House Remix was directly inspired by one of the movements of the suite.

Tour de Force was recorded in may 2013 in the Performing Arts Centre of The College of The Bahamas and produced, engineered, and mastered by Terry Manning.

C Force is made up of Christine Gangelhoff, flute and Christian Justilien, euphonium (both of whom are faculty members at The College of The Bahamas), and Christy Lee, piano (who is on the faculty at Maryville College in Maryville, TN).

The disc is available on itunes (https://itunes.apple.com/bs/album/tour-de-force/id1087089093) and digital outlets world wide including Amazon.com.  For more information on the ensemble and their music please go to www.cforcemusic.com.  C Force merchandise is available at http://www.cafepress.com/cforcemusic.

2) Hello Bill, Thanks so much. Have a great weekend.  Best wishes, Christine  Dr. Christine Gangelhoff
